While we know that no one can ever replace Gordon, we do have to fill his seat on the Council and spot on the ballot. Here is the information on how we will do that this week.
A note from the Chairman. Please share with anyone you know considering
filling Gordon's seat for the remainder of 2014. And/or running for District 3
County Council in Gordon's stead. Two separate caucuses will be held, one
after the other, to fill the separate vacancies on October 7th. The caucus will
include precinct chairs located in District 3, which is Harrison Township, with the exceptions of Northwest Harrison and South Harrison precincts. It will be held at Democratic headquarters on Capitol Avenue at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, October 7.
Here's the required paperwork.
A letter of intent to fill the vacancy, CEB 5 and CAN 31, mailed to
Harrison County Democrats PO Box 8, Corydon, IN. 47112 by this Friday. The CAN
31 also must be turned into the County Clerk no later than this Friday, 72 hours
before the caucus. It is critical that anyone interested file the necessary documents to be considered.
